{"id":57,"date":"2019-02-19T14:28:35","date_gmt":"2019-02-19T14:28:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wegcwp.uni-graz.at\/quality\/?page_id=57"},"modified":"2020-10-13T14:25:35","modified_gmt":"2020-10-13T14:25:35","slug":"project_aims","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wegcwp.uni-graz.at\/quality\/project_aims\/","title":{"rendered":"Project Aims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The overall aim of <strong>QUALITY<\/strong> is\u00a0 the identification and evaluation of options for <strong>qualitative change<\/strong> in the socioeconomic\u00a0system to substantially reduce GHG emissions and of instruments that foster such change\u00a0to enable Austria\u00b4s low-carbon transition according to the Paris Agreement targets.<br \/>\nThe following sub-targets are addressed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identification of <em>qualitative change<\/em> <em>options for passenger transport<\/em> and related\u00a0Austrian emission-relevant policies for the long-term horizon<\/li>\n<li>Integration of<em> stakeholders<\/em> into the research process to ensure\u00a0issue and result relevance as well as feasibility and acceptability of changes<\/li>\n<li>Expansion of the qualitative change analysis to <em>one including transport and electricity\u00a0sector interaction<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Identification and development of <em>policy instruments<\/em> to foster such qualitative change,\u00a0analysing their <em>legal prerequisites<\/em>, <em>demands and implications to supply<\/em> policy\u00a0recommendations for the specific Austrian context<\/li>\n<li>Identification of potential and cross-sectoral winners and losers along such qualitative\u00a0change pathways, quantification of the respective economic relevance<\/li>\n<li><em>Quantification of transport and related energy policies\u00b4 qualitative change potential<\/em> for long-term GHG emission reduction, while adequately acknowledging economic and\u00a0distributional implications along the transition pathway<\/li>\n<li>Discussion of these results and further instrument improvement, also <em>enhancing\u00a0acceptability of policies<\/em> addressing qualitative change by means of co-design with\u00a0stakeholders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A short overview on the basic concept of the project and its structure is given in Figure 1:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-306\" src=\"http:\/\/wegcwp.uni-graz.at\/quality\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/02\/Workflow_Quality-300x191.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"863\" height=\"549\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wegcwp.uni-graz.at\/quality\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/02\/Workflow_Quality-300x191.png 300w, https:\/\/wegcwp.uni-graz.at\/quality\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/02\/Workflow_Quality-768x489.png 768w, https:\/\/wegcwp.uni-graz.at\/quality\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/02\/Workflow_Quality-1024x652.png 1024w, https:\/\/wegcwp.uni-graz.at\/quality\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/02\/Workflow_Quality.png 1251w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 863px) 100vw, 863px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Figure 1: Project flow and workpackage interaction<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The overall aim of QUALITY is\u00a0 the identification and evaluation of options for qualitative change in the socioeconomic\u00a0system to substantially reduce GHG emissions and of instruments that foster such change\u00a0to enable Austria\u00b4s low-carbon transition according to the Paris Agreement targets.
