INTEGRATE is set up to co-generate the following use values for each of its intended target groups:

  • For different industry sectors, the implications of economy-wide transitions are identified and quantified, as well as respective pre-conditions, innovations and links to interacting sectors, especially the energy sector.
  • For housing construction, operation and renovation, climate neutral pathways are specified in full detail, including required innovations and changes in building codes, investment levels, financial incentive structures, and industrial production demands.
  • For the finance sector, required innovations and options to reform banking regulation as well as the capital market are identified, to adequately finance infrastructure and operation of the transition.
  • For government, policy makers and administration at federal, state and municipal levels, required innovations and measures are identified and quantified in terms of their macroeconomic implications, including industries, employment and public budget.
  • The general public, NGOs, and interest groups are informed about the distributional implications of policy measures and transformations, and how these can be shaped so that equity is maintained or even enhanced. Their full involvement in a just transition will ensure motivation to participate and accept the measures taken.

Above all, the different participatory formats for co-producing a common vision and consistent pathways and policies provide the basis for a climate-neutral economy and enable its very implementation. The results of this co-production process, the detailed analysis of (combinations of) options and their respective implications will be made available in appropriate formats to policy makers, private sector actors as well as the society at large.

For the international and national scientific community, the state-of-the-art in economic evaluation tool development will be advanced, allowing for integration of sectoral sub-model result.
